Where Is the Lightest Charmed Scalar Meson?

The lightest charmed scalar meson is known as the $D_0^*(2300)$, which one of earliest new hadron resonances observed at modern $B$ factories. We show here that parameters assigned to $D$-meson are in conflict with precise LHCb data decay $B^-\to D^+ \pi^- \pi^-$. On contrary, these can be well described by an unitarized chiral amplitude containing a much lighter meson, $D_0^*(2100)$. also extract low-energy $S$-wave $D\pi$ phase \pi^-$ from model-independent way, and its difference scattering shift traced back intermediate $\rho^-$ exchange. Our work highlights analysis consistent symmetry, unitarity, analyticity mandatory order properties ground-state mesons singly heavy sector correctly, analogy light $f_0(500)$ $K_0^*(700)$.

I present the results of a recent calculation to determine the number of strange scalar resonances below 1.8 GeV based on the analytic properties of the experimental πK scattering amplitude. qq̄-classification of the lightest scalar mesons

We calculate partial widths for the decays a0(980) → γγ and f0(980) → γγ under the assumption that a0(980) and f0(980) are members of the basic 1 P0qq̄ nonet. The results are in a reasonable agreement with data thus giving an argument for a qq̄ origin of these mesons. We also calculate the γγ partial widths for the other scalar mesons, members of the 2P0qq̄ nonet.

Measurement of Charmed Meson Lifetimes with Belle

The lifetimes of charmed mesons have been measured using 2.75 fb of data collected with the Belle detector at KEKB. Each candidate is fully reconstructed to identify the flavor of the charmed meson. The lifetimes are measured to be τ(D) = (414.8±3.8±3.4) fs, τ(D) = (1040 −22 ± 18) fs and τ(D + s ) = (479 +17 −16 +6 −8) fs, where the first error is statistical and the second error is systematic....
